Construction Director: Major Projects

Our government‑aligned client in Riyadh is seeking an experienced Construction Director to oversee the on‑site delivery and installation of complex MEP systems across high‑security building projects. This role will be site focused, ensuring all works are executed to the highest technical, safety, and security standards whilst supporting the client and reporting to the Project Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the on-site execution, installation, and coordination of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, ELV/security systems, fire protection, plumbing, and specialist technologies.
  • Ensure all MEP works are delivered in strict accordance with design specifications, project schedules, and government security protocols.
  • Work closely with government representatives, technical advisors, and security authorities to ensure compliance at every project stage.
  • Attend coordination meetings, present progress updates, and address technical or security‑related queries professionally and confidentially.
  • Lead and oversee all MEP subcontractors, ensuring clear communication, proper sequencing of works, and timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections to validate installation quality, adherence to specifications, and system integration.
  • Support design coordination, identify clashes early, and ensure solutions are implemented quickly.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (MEP essential).
  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience overseeing MEP installation on major building projects.
  • Strong track record in managing on‑site MEP construction teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors.
  • Experience delivering secure, government, defence, or mission‑critical facilities is highly advantageous.
  • Deep technical understanding of MEP systems, installation sequencing, and commissioning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Must be willing and eligible to undergo government security clearance.
