Commercial / Cost Control Manager

A leading construction company is seeking a highly experienced Commercial / Cost Control Manager to join its growing team in Kuwait. This is a key strategic role requiring deep expertise in commercial management, project cost control, forecasting, and contract administration. The successful candidate will bring over 15 years of relevant experience and must be ready to mobilize quickly, with availability to join within 2–3 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial and cost control operations across assigned construction projects.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
  • Oversee cost reporting, variance analysis, and cash‑flow management to ensure financial stability of the project.
  • Manage contract administration, including claims, variations, change orders, and commercial correspondence.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of contractor and subcontractor payment applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, and finance teams to maintain effective cost governance.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, recommending mitigation strategies to protect project profitability.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of proven experience in commercial management and cost control, ideally within major construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, project financials, claims management, and cost reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large‑scale contractors or major infrastructure programs.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage high‑pressure deadlines and oversee multiple commercial workstreams simultaneously.
  • Must be able to join within 2–3 weeks — this requirement is essential and non‑negotiable.
