Assistant Director – (A/V) Audio Visual

An exciting opportunity to work for a high‑profile, world‑class entertainment organisation delivering multiple iconic themed entertainment properties across the UAE. Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Director – Audio Visual Facilities to lead the engineering, installation, pre‑opening delivery, and long‑term operations and maintenance of all audio‑visual systems across their portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Audio‑Visual engineering, installation, commissioning, and handover activities across multiple entertainment properties.
  • Oversee pre‑opening A/V delivery, including design reviews, system integration, testing, commissioning, and readiness for operational launch.
  • Take ownership of A/V operations and maintenance post‑opening, ensuring system reliability, performance, and lifecycle optimisation.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for all audio, video, show control, media, lighting, projection, LED, and integrated control systems.
  • Manage and coordinate internal A/V teams, system integrators, specialist contractors, and OEM partners.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance regimes, and fault‑response procedures.
  • Ensure A/V systems meet operational, safety, and performance standards aligned with guest experience expectations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop large multi‑disciplinary A/V teams, promoting best‑practice delivery and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 15–18+ years’ experience in professional A/V engineering, system integration, and technical operations.
  • Must have led as a Director or Head of A/V for large events, themed attractions or hotels.
  • Proven background delivering large‑scale A/V systems within themed entertainment, attractions, live entertainment, or complex public venues.
  • Strong experience managing pre‑opening technical delivery, commissioning, and transition into live operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing A/V operations, maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to lead large A/V teams, including engineers, operators, technicians, and external service providers.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge across audio systems, show control, LED video, projection, lighting, media servers, and control platforms.
  • Previous experience working in the UAE or wider Middle East is highly desirable.
