Senior Safety Engineer

Senior Safety Engineer – Data Centre Construction – Frankfurt, Germany An international main contractor is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join the HSE team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt.

Working alongside the HSE Manager, you'll help drive a strong safety culture across the site, carrying out inspections and audits, managing subcontractor safety compliance and supporting the project team in hitting programme milestones safely. This is a site-based role on a large-scale, high-profile build, with exposure to the full range of data centre construction activities including civils, structural, MEP installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project
  • Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits
  • Ensure compliance with the project Health & Safety plan, client requirements and German legislation
  • Review subcontractor RAMS and monitor subcontractor safety performance
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inductions
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, including root cause analysis
  • Prepare safety reports and documentation for senior management
  • Liaise with client representatives and external stakeholders on safety matters
  • Mentor junior safety staff and support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ Health & Safety experience in construction or civil engineering
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects
  • Relevant H&S qualification – NEBOSH, Diploma, Degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience with site inspections, audits and incident investigations
  • Full driving licence
  • Fluent English
