MEP Procurement Director

Our client - one of Saudi Arabia’s most respected and forward‑thinking construction contractors—is seeking an accomplished MEP Procurement Director to lead all procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, and public health systems across a diverse portfolio of landmark developments. This senior leadership role sits within the corporate office, overseeing strategy, governance, supplier relationships, and end‑to‑end procurement for both materials and MEP subcontract packages.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a group-wide MEP procurement strategy covering materials, equipment, specialist systems, and subcontract packages.
  • Establish standardised procurement processes, frameworks, and governance across all projects.
  • Lead long-term sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with project delivery milestones and corporate objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement of major MEP materials including HVAC equipment, switchgear, lighting, cabling, pumps, piping, BMS systems, firefighting equipment, and associated components.
  • Evaluate suppliers globally to ensure quality, compliance, technical suitability, and competitive pricing.
  • Lead the full tendering lifecycle for MEP subcontractors—from prequalification and RFP preparation, through bid evaluation, negotiation, and final award.
  • Ensure all contracts are robust, compliant, and aligned with project requirements, international standards, and Saudi regulatory frameworks.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key global manufacturers, specialist subcontractors, and regional supply‑chain partners.
  • Collaborate with project directors, design teams, QS departments, and site leadership to ensure procurement strategies reflect real‑time needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience in MEP procurement within major construction or engineering organisations.
  • Proven track record leading procurement for large‑scale projects such as commercial towers, mixed‑use developments, infrastructure, hospitals, airports, or giga‑projects.
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, materials, supplier markets, and technical specifications.
  • Strong experience in end‑to‑end procurement for MEP subcontract tenders and contract negotiations.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East—preferably Saudi Arabia or GCC.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience working within a corporate or group‑level procurement function is highly preferable.
