Airport Systems – Technical Director

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Technical Director to lead the technical delivery, integration, and operational performance of complex airport systems across major Saudi aviation projects. This senior role requires deep expertise in PBBs, BHS, GSE, airport infrastructure, and full‑lifecycle O&M planning within live operational airport environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full technical lifecycle including design review, installation, testing & commissioning, O&M, and project handover for airport systems.
  • Oversee and guide all technical documentation such as method statements, proposals, pricing inputs, interface documents, T&C plans, and lifecycle cost models.
  • Manage the integration and performance of Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) within live airport environments.
  • Provide technical-commercial support across tenders, pricing, O&M modelling, value engineering, and variations.
  • Coordinate with airport operators, aviation authorities, OEMs, consultants, and specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance and technical excellence.
  • Ensure alignment with ICAO, IATA, and local aviation regulatory standards.
  • Support broader airport operations (airside and terminal) by integrating technical solutions effectively with operational needs.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years experience in airport, aviation, or major infrastructure projects, including 8–10 years in senior technical leadership.
  • Proven expertise with PBB, BHS, GSE, and their systems integration, lifecycle planning, and O&M cost modelling.
  • Strong multidisciplinary engineering background in civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural works (foundations, pits, trenches, utilities, steel structures).
  • Demonstrated experience in live or brownfield airport environments, with strong competency in commercial and contractual processes (claims, variations, VE, negotiations).
  • Excellent capability in producing and approving technical, operational, and commercial documentation to strict regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Systems). Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma) are advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills and familiarity with aviation standards, airports authorities, and OEM coordination.
