Lead Landscape Architect – Stadium

We are seeking a Lead Landscape Architect to take a senior design leadership role across a major stadium development programme in Saudi Arabia, with particular responsibility for high-level landscape design review across a high profile stadium and public realm.

 

Our client is a leading international delivery consultancy engaged on one of the region's flagship sports stadiums. This is a career-defining opportunity to shape the public realm and precinct design of world-class stadium from concept through to tournament readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior landscape architectural design leadership (review/approval) across stadium and precinct.
  • Ensure all landscape and public realm designs meet FIFA, AFC and relevant international federation technical standards
  • Set and uphold design quality, consistency and technical rigour across the landscape portfolio
  • Act as the primary landscape design authority in coordination with client, architecture, engineering and specialist consultants
  • Lead high-level design reviews and approvals, ensuring alignment with programme, budget and quality requirements
  • Oversee integration of landscape design with architecture, structural, MEP, drainage, hardscape and softscape systems
  • Manage relationships with international landscape design consultants, contractors and governing-body technical panels
  • Resolve complex technical and design-compliance issues as they arise across the landscape and public realm scope
  • Support testing, commissioning and pre-event readiness from a landscape design-compliance perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an internationally recognised, accredited institution
  • Chartered/registered status with a recognised international body (e.g. LI, ASLA, ISOLA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 15+ years’ post-qualification experience, including significant time in a senior landscape design leadership role
  • Demonstrable, verifiable experience delivering landscape design for FIFA World Cup or other FIFA/AFC-sanctioned stadium projects
  • Deep working knowledge of FIFA and AFC stadium precinct and public realm design guidelines
  • Experience delivering mega-scale sports infrastructure and public realm projects (multi-billion SAR/USD value)
  • Fluent English and strong experience operating within international, multidisciplinary design and delivery teams
  • Prior experience working in the GCC, ideally Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
