Senior Planning Manager – Stadium

An exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Planning Manager on a high profile stadium in Riyadh for the next 3-4 years with a globally renowned consultancy.

 

This is a career-defining opportunity for a planning professional with genuine, hands-on stadium delivery experience to join a high-profile programme central to the Kingdom's sporting infrastructure ambitions, working alongside a multidisciplinary international team to plan, monitor and control delivery of a venue that will host football at the highest level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own and maintain the master programme for the stadium project, integrating design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning phases
  • Lead the planning and project controls function across the programme, coordinating inputs from the client, design consultants, main contractor and specialist stadium-systems suppliers
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes, identify critical path risks and lead recovery and mitigation planning
  • Prepare and present programme status reports, forecasts and look-ahead schedules to senior stakeholders and governing-body representatives
  • Undertake schedule risk analysis and scenario / what-if planning to support key programme decisions
  • Coordinate programme interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP, seating bowl, pitch, roofing and overlay work packages
  • Support claims, delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments where required
  • Ensure programme compliance with contractual milestones, FIFA / AFC event-readiness deadlines and client reporting requirements
  • Lead, mentor and direct a team of planning engineers and project controls coordinators across the programme
  • Support testing, commissioning and pre-event readiness planning ahead of stadium handover

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Minimum 15+ years’ post-qualification experience in planning / project controls, including significant time in a senior planning leadership role.
  • Previous experience gained with a design consultancy, site supervision consultancy or project management consultancy
  • Demonstrable, verifiable experience delivering a sports stadium project.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 (or equivalent) scheduling software, with strong schedule risk analysis skills
  • Experience delivering mega-scale infrastructure or sports venue projects (multi-billion SAR / USD value)
  • Fluent English and strong experience operating within international, multidisciplinary design and delivery teams
  • Prior experience working in the Middle East / GCC, ideally Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
